About Christey Sharpshair, LAc

Christey Sharpshair is a licensed acupuncturist from Marshalltown, Iowa, and received her bachelor of arts in Religion and Philosophy at Coe College in 2013. She then went on to graduate valedictorian and Summa Cum Laude from Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, Minnesota in 2016 with a master’s degree in Oriental Medicine, learning both eastern and western medical modalities and interning for 2 years in a variety of medical settings.

She has worked with HIV-positive and underserved populations at the Aliveness Project and Pillsbury House in Minneapolis working with medication side effects, mental health, digestive and hormonal irregularity, and pain. She has administered post-operative pain, nausea, and anxiety relief at Regions and Woodwinds hospitals in the Twin Cities area, and she has worked with a variety of other populations at on-campus clinics throughout her 3-year training. Altogether, she has over 3,000 hours of in class and practical training in acupuncture and Oriental medicine. Today she practices acupuncture in the Cedar Rapids area at Salveo and has been practicing as a licensed professional since 2017.

Christey enjoys playing ultimate frisbee, biking, and board games in her free time, as well as spending time with her cat, Lila.
